About Me
“Known for his soulful saxophone melodies that resonate through the city’s vibrant jazz scene” (-Make Music Alliance), saxophonist and producer Nick Marziani has proven to be a rising force in today’s music world.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Marziani was recognized early on for his prodigious talents, earning the lead alto saxophone seat in the Pennsylvania All-State Jazz Ensemble and the Philly All-Star Big Band for 3 years consecutively, and was selected as both lead alto saxophonist and lead tenor saxophonist for the All-Eastern and All-National Jazz Ensembles. Under the tutelage of saxophone legends Donny McCaslin and Jaleel Shaw, Nick graduated in 2022 from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, and in the same year won the DownBeat Magazine Award for Blues, Pop and Rock Soloist.
Marziani has quickly become one of the most in-demand saxophonists of his generation, described by Marple Magazine as combining “the soulfulness and colors of jazz with the upbeat grooves of dance, pop and R&B music. Influenced by the improvisational prowess of Michael Brecker to the funky grooves of Grover Washington, Jr., Nick’s playing brings a fresh, unique perspective to the saxophone.”
Marziani tours with esteemed indie-dance collective Gentleman Brawlers and has shared the stage with jazz legends Ingrid Jensen and Wycliffe Gordon- having performed at the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center, Kimmel Center, ShapeShifter Lab, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, and various national music festivals. Nick’s bright, expressive playing can be heard throughout NYC and Philadelphia, and is available to stream on all platforms.
